4th Annual AAU Detroit Spring Basketball League
Good Teams, become Great, by Playing Better Competition.... AAU Spring League 2012
Last season 85 teams competed in the AAU Spring D-League and the number one reason coaches choose Midwest Athletics, is for the consistent competition on a weekly basis. Midwest Athletics has the teams, the facilities and the expertise in event planning. The 2012 D-League will be open to the first 80 teams to register.
AAU Detroit Spring League Dates :-( Teams will play 5 of the dates below)
Sunday, April 29th | Sunday, May 6th | Saturday, May 12th & Sunday, May 13th | Saturday, May 19th & Sunday, May 20th | Finals-Sunday, June 3rd or Sunday, June 10th
Age Groups:
Girls- 5th/6th, 7th/8th, JV & Varsity Divisions | Boys- 3rd/4th, 5th/6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, JV & Varsity Divisions
League Highlights:
Each division will have at least 2-bye weeks | 1st & 2nd place team trophies and individual awards
First class facilities-5 total regulation sized high school courts | State certified referees for ALL games-(3-man crews for play-offs) | Doubleheaders with less time between games-Get in and get home…
Cost is $795 per team, multiple team and returning team discounts available
Regular Season:
The regular season will consist of 8-regular season games. Teams will play 2-games each time they are scheduled for league play. The regular season record will count towards the teams overall play-off seeding. League tiebreakers will be determined by the following.
Play-offs:
Play-off round schedules will be selected by each teams seed placing-(regular season standings). There will be a one game elimination in the league play-offs. Remaining games will be consolation games. Each age division will have a Championship game and the 1st - 2nd place teams will receive team/individual awards.
AAU Information:
All participants must have a current AAU membership. AAU membership may not be included as part of the entry fee to the event. AAU membership must be obtained before the competition begins except where the event operator has a laptop available with an internet connect. Participants are encouraged to visit the AAU web site www.aausports.org to obtain their membership
